Introducing Sydney {Then & Now}

Sydney and her family are very special to me. I first met Sydney in ’06 and I knew then and there I had met a very special family. Their love for Sydney, and each other, was evident. I felt privileged to have been welcomed into their lives. I’ve since photographed little Sydney on numerous occasions and was honored with the opportunity to photograph their newest daughter Sienna shortly after her arrival…I’ve been included in so many magical moments for this family it seems only natural that their images would be among those to grace the pages of The Big Book of Babies.

Allow me to introduce to you…

Sydney {then} as published in The Big Book of Babies:

While I wish I could say I have more recent {now} photos of Sydney, her family has since moved to North Carolina which has limited our time together some what. To get a little peek of how adorable Sydney is now (and to meet her adorable sister Sienna) you’ll need to pop over to my post featuring their visit back to the sunshine state last Janurary. Beyond that, well, you’ll have to check back to the blog in a few months when they make their way back to Florida for our annual session.

We asked Sydney’s Mom to answer a few questions for the blog, here’s what she had to say…

What is your favorite weekend activity to do with the family?

“I honestly love a day at home with the girls where we can just play together on our own schedule. Having to get out the door with two little ones can sometimes be a stressful task.”

The most requested toy in my house right now is…

“Whatever the baby is playing with! Somehow that item magically becomes very interesting to Sydney as well.”

One thing I hope to never forget is…

“how my girls smell after their bath.”

If there were 25 hours in a day, I would spend that extra hour…

“Playing with Sydney & Sienna of course!”

What I’m most looking forward to in 2008…

“Hopefully working a few things out with my business so I can spend more time with the girls”

(Check out their adorable new children’s clothing line; www.fliggity.com!)

What do you love about lifeXpressions? (Hey, you know you would ask too!)

“I seriously love the creativity and the quality of the pictures – I don’t know what your ‘secret’ is but I can’t find anything like it here in Charlotte!”"

Introducing Dominic {Then & Now}

I find it quite an honor that this family has chosen me to document their most special moments time and time again over the course of the last almost five years now. It’s really no surprise that the editors of The Big Book of Babies decided little Dominic should grace their pages not once, but twice! In this first image little Dominic was only 6 months old and barely able to sit without support. The second image featured in the book shows a very excited and happy little 1 year old during our annual holiday session.

Introducing Lauren {Then and Now}

Sorry for the delay in the Then & Now postings gang, things got a little backed up for a while there but we seem to be back on track now and I have some very important little Big Book of Babies stars to showcase in the coming weeks! This week I’d like to introduce little Miss Lauren to you. :) She first stole my heart more than two years ago now during a beach session that to this day showcases some of my favorite sunset images of all time. Since then I’ve had the joy of watching her blossom into this adorable spunky little preschooler with a heart of gold.

Photographs are important to me because…

“I enjoy seeing all the changes the kids go thru. It also brings back wonderful memories of a particular time in my life and their life.”

One thing I hope to always remember…

“The way it felt to see and hold my children for the first time.”

A night out with the children? It can be done! What is your favorite child-friendly restaurant?

Mom’s need TLC too, where do you go to be pampered?

“Spa Blue, Naples”

Introducing Kevin {Then & Now}

I first had the opportunity to work with Kevin when he was just a little tot, not quite big enough to walk on his own down the beach. He’s certainly come a long way. Spunky, sweet, and a totally adorable, this little guy will completely steal your heart.

Sneak Peek, Sophia & Jack {Then & Now}

Just a few of this adorable twosome before I log off tonight – Sophia is one of my Big Book of Babies stars, at the time she was about the same age as her baby brother today. This family is one of my out of state clients so they were unable to attend the recent Big Book of Babies promotional sessions. Instead, I’ll have to improvise just a little bit…

Here is Sophia {Then}

Just a few more, I certainly can’t post Sophia’s photos without sharing a few of her new baby brother, Jack. He was such a little charmer. It might seem hard to believe from the smile on his face but little Jack wasn’t quite sure if he liked the sand which did make things a bit of a challenge. But, in the end, everything came together wonderfully! I hope Mom and Dad enjoy their sneak peek, the best is yet to come!

[sub·lime]: 1. impressing the mind with a sense of grandeur or power;

inspiring awe, veneration

2. supreme or outstanding

Actually ‘sublime’ is Nick’s latest favorite word, I’m just going to borrow it for a little while because I cannot think of a more perfect word to describe these adorable young ladies!
(Cliff notes: Nick is my 7 yr old.)
This face totally cracks me up. Yep, I’d have to say that expression is just sublime!
