Sneak Peek, Seth celebrates his first birthday on the beach in Naples!

I believe I can fly…

I had my first opportunity to meet this little guy last year ….

Little Seth was so tiny he curled up in the palms of Daddy’s hands just perfectly, what a little sweetheart! Needless to say, when his Mommy called to book his 1 year session I jumped at the chance, there is something so special about having the opportunity to capture a sweet little soul when they’re first born and then having the honor of visiting with them again as they hit that milestone first birthday! They grow so quickly as it is but that first year goes by in a blink of an eye, it never ceases to amaze me how much they change in such a short period of time.

I am so NOT a foot person, ok, that’s putting it mildly. Yet for some reason I totally adore baby toes! I’m also a huge fan of tubby baby Buddha bellies, which means it was only natural for me to instantly fall in love with this shot.

Future heartbreaker alert - check out those baby blues!!

Yep - The salt water is fun but I’m guessing from the look on his face it’s not all the tasty!  ;)

Sneak Peek, Charlotte

Every so often I’m lucky enough to work with a child that who really does make my job easy. Charlotte was one of those babies. She was all smiles from the first moment we met, only protesting slightly when Mom changed her clothes. Then, right back to those big, toothless, baby grins. Gosh I love her!

Come back and see me a-n-y-t-i-m-e Charlotte, seriously! I could photograph her any day of the week, twice on Sundays! wub.gif

The Big Book of Babies {Then & Now}

Now is the time to stay tuned to the innerXpressions blog! Recently I had the opportunity to meet up with several of the children featured in the book. Several of them are regular clients whom I’ve had the opportunity to photograph several times over the last few years, others I haven’t seen in years! It was so much fun spending time with them and seeing how much they’d changed since we last met!

To celebrate the release of The Big Book of Babies, each week I will be featuring a child from the book right here on the innerXpressions blog. To keep it interesting, the families were each given a few questions on a variety of topics; from tips for traveling with children to the coolest tot spots in Southwest Florida! I’ll be featuring some of their answers along side their child’s {Then & Now} images. If you haven’t already, now would be a fantastic time to sign up for the innerXpressions mailing list, then you’ll be sure to catch all of those adorable Big Book of Babies Stars!

Sneak Peek, Chelsea & Hayden {Happy Accidents}

I’ve been a lover of photography all of my life and a student of photography for more than 11 years. I’d like to tell you that I go into each session with a plan, that I can look at my subject, her surroundings, and what know the outcome will be with every click of the shutter. I’d like to say that but people, especially children, are not all that predictable. I don’t need to know the outcome of every shot, life happens! Oh don’t get me wrong, I love the watching the light, studying the composition and setting a scene. I love having a vision and being able to realize that vision. Yet some of my favorite images are merely happy accidents…

Meet Hayden, 13 days old when photographed. My newborn sessions tend to run long, on average 2-3 hours long. They change so quickly in those first weeks, my goal is to capture all those little newborn details before they go away. Over the last four years I’ve certainly photographed my share of sleepy smiles and itty-bitty baby parts. Still, in all this time I have never seen a brand new baby laugh out loud during a session, and being able to capture that image for Mom and Dad, to say I’m delighted would be an understatement! Now if I could only remember what I said that was so darn funny!

Yes, Hayden is remarkable. Of course, I’m not really surprised.

I’ve had the honor of photographing her sister Chelsea before and she is equally delightful! See for yourself… :)

Sneak Peek, Jace & Lyla

This sneak peek is long over due, Mom & Dad have been so patient waiting for their proofs due some very icky technical difficulties in the land of lifeXpressions. In the mean time, I hope this sneak peek will bring a smile to their faces. Hang in there guys, almost ready!!

Who’s birthday is it anyway?!

Sometimes I just crack myself up .

It’s Paisley’s birthday!! Yep, another JOY baby turned one!! Paisley is a girl on the move - she wasn’t completely able to walk on her own yet as of our session but she could sure move fast! Some of her many talents include, stair climbing, doggy catching, modeling, and she even plays piano. Not too shabby for someone who’s only had a year to practice!

Sneak Peek, Kevin & Riley

I’m sharing a very special sneak peek with you all today - I’ve had the pleasure of photographing Kevin since he was just a little guy, barely able to walk. He is a complete charmer, sweet, lovable, with the biggest blue eyes. This year Kevin brought his new baby sister, Riley along for her first lifeXpressions session. It was no surprise to see she is every bit as charming as her big brother, Kev.

I have to tell you though, yes, these two are completely adorable. But spending a little time with them you discover they really have the sweetest souls. I’m sure their Mommy has something to do with that, she is just as lovely, inside and out.
