Hey, I’ve got an interesting tidbit for you, at least it was news to me. Of course most of us realize the South end of Lee County is growing at an amazing rate. This is really not all that surprising to me considering I live here myself and know first hand what an awesome location this is to live in! Seriously, less than 10 minutes from THREE major malls, fine dining, entertainment, speedy access to I-75…ahh…I simply LOVE Estero. Oh goodness, I think I got sidetracked – HA! The interesting new fact I had for you is that the beautiful Miromar Lakes community has actually become it’s own CITY right smack dab in the middle of Estero and Fort Myers. It’s now officially called Miromar Lakes, Florida. That’s kinda neat isn’t it? Surprisingly this was my first visit to the community city and I’d have to say, with their grand fountains, amazing golf course, 5 star restaurant and yep, even their own private beach I think it’s safe to say they’ve earned the right to be called their own city. ;)

Okay, now that I’ve done my civic duty and informed you all of the hot new place to be, let’s get back to the gorgeous little guy being featured today shall we? What a cute little peanut!! It was just about two weeks ago that I met Colton and his proud Mommy & Daddy. He was a mere seven days old when I photographed him but oh so alert. Once I went through my standard ‘newborn whispering’ routine (as Kelly so aptly calls it) he settled right in and was game for just about anything. Take a peek for yourself, isn’t he just precious?! I’m always envious of these babies with a full head of hair considering my three were as bald as could be until they were well past their first year.

Featured Session { Jenna } | Naples Beach Senior Portraits

Meet Jenna! Jenna’s graduating this year and currently lives in the great state of Texas. She wanted something a little different than your average every day senior portraits so she scheduled a session with me on the beach in North Naples.  Jenna and her Mother showed up with big smiles and a car full of clothes, I instantly loved them! This girl has style to spare and such an amazingly sweet personality to go along with it. Jenna, we had such a BLAST hanging out on the beach with you (and you too Mom!). Featured Session { Matt & Caroline } | Naples Family Beach Photographer

This lovely family made a trip to the Naples area all the way from New Jersey, by CAR. Brave, brave, souls! haha Seriously though, I’ve made the drive from South to North (Michigan to be exact) a few times myself it’s actually very scenic and the quality family time on the road can lead to memories that last a lifetime! I could tell the minute I met them they were easy going, fun loving, and full of spirit! I spend so much time chasing toddlers on the beach it’s always a nice change of pace to be able to photograph people who DON’T run from the camera!

A big thank you to the C. family for chosing lifeXpressions to capture your vacation memories while visiting sunny Florida. I hope you had as much fun during our session together as we did!

Around Town!

Have you been missing your weekly lifeXpressions’ Around Town blog?!   Well, it’s back!  Terrilyn and I have had quite a busy summer so far.  We’ve been working hard on sessions, but also behind the scenes on some fun stuff.  Many of you know that we made a big announcement last week.  If you don’t know, then click here to read all about it!  In the meantime, let’s get to it and see what’s going on around town this weekend!

C’mon Family Fun at Bell Tower – Saturday, July 17th

The Children’s Museum of Naples’ education series, Family Fun, is expanding into Lee County at Bell Tower Shops. Children, ages 4 through 8, will have the opportunity to explore the world through hands-on activities at the Fort Myers shopping center.

Held the third Saturday of each month, through July 17, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Family Fun programs are free, fun and open to the public. Each activity takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes and snacks and juice are provided. A parent or adult must stay and participate in the Family Fun activities.

Space Kidettes (July 17). Explore the outer reaches of the universe and study the effects of gravity, then make a rocket that can really blast off.  For additional information on the Family Fun programs, contact Jennifer Sabo, C’mon’s education director, at 239-514-0084, or click here.

Miracle Baseball Game – Sunday, July 18th at 7:05 p.m.

Have you been to a Miracle’s Baseball game yet?  They’re a lot of fun, and a great time for the whole family.  This Sunday is Family Fun Sunday! Pregame catch on the field and postgame spring the bases.  $6.50 for general admission/ $8.50 for a box seat.  For more information, click here.   You can also attend a baseball camp with the Miracles!  The first camp starts on Monday!  Camp #1: July 19th, 20th, 21st, 9:00am – Noon: Ages 6-8 years.  For more information, click here.

Featured Session { Aria } | Naples Newborn Photographer

It wasn’t long ago I had the honor of meeting this lovely family for their maternity session at the Naples Secret Garden – and not a minute too soon because  Aria was born less than a week later so we loaded up our gear and headed on over to photograph the new family at their home in Naples. Isn’t  she precious???  Yep, we think so too!   Look at her little lips, and chubby little cheeks, tiny toes, and baby wrinkles – LOVE!  The precious little necklace  was a gift from family overseas – so beautiful and sentimental.  I  can already imagine her passing this piece on to her own daughter, or granddaughter someday and it makes me *smile*.

I’m thrilled to let you all know that lifeXpressions photography has now expanded to include another child and family photographer! Many of you have already met her in person, and many of you know her from the blog, but we hope you all will welcome Kelly Turner to our team!Kelly Turner, lifeXpressions photography Staff Photographer

I first met Kelly in 2006 when she commissioned me to capture her maternity and newborn pictures, and again in 2007 with the birth of her second child. Over the years, Kelly and I developed a friendship and what started out as lending me a helping hand during a very busy holiday season, eventually blossomed into more. Kelly initially started assisting me ‘behind the scenes’ with packing orders, posting on the blog, and basically learning the ropes. For the past year, Kelly has accompanied me on nearly every session – helping with lighting and prop setup for newborn and maternity sessions in client homes, holding scrims and reflectors for child and family sessions on the beaches of Naples, Fort Myers and Marco Island. She’s got quite a knack for keeping the clients entertained while the session unfolds and charming the little ones into adorable giggles. She has also been my photographer-in-training. Those of you who have met Kelly have likely seen her photographing alongside me during your session. She loves photography as much as I do, and has shown devotion and dedication to learning the profession of photography under my guidance. Although I will mentor Kelly as she continues to refine her skills, she is ready to take on her own sessions and I couldn’t be happier to have her here. Sneak Peek { Hunter } | Naples Family Portraits at La Playa Beach Resort

Well hellooo there! Yes, I know it seems like it’s been an eternity since I’ve updated the blog. Between sessions and editing and my kids starting summer break and then our family vacation to the BEAUTIFUL Silver Springs State Park & Wild Waters, well, the blog has been on the bottom of the priority list and for that I apologize. However I have a treat for you today, this beautiful family was visiting the Naples beach area from Texas and what an amazing time we all had together. Mom was positively GLOWING and picked the most beautiful flowing white maternity dress I’ve ever seen. Dad was simply beaming with pride watching his family play in the surf and well, Hunter was just a charmer. That little guy had me wrapped around his finger in five minutes flat!
