After what seems like an eternity of legal hoop jumping I am proud to announce lifeXpressions photography, LLC is now legally protected as a registered trademark with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Yea!
I hope you don’t mind but I’d like to offer a little public service announcement to my fellow photographers. If you are serious about your business and want to protect the time and effort you put into marketing and creating a brand for yourself, I would highly recommend taking the necessary action to protect your business which includes registering for your trademark and legally copyrighting every image you create. You would think, in a creative field like photography, people would be more, oh I don’t know, CREATIVE? Unfortunately that is not always the case. There are people out there that want nothing more than to have everything spoon-fed to them in an effort to become quickly established in this business. The truth of the matter is, there are no shortcuts. Be creative, be true to yourself, learn your craft, learn marketing, learn accounting, learn everything you possibly can and never stop. This is a business, of course it is a business that I love and feel very honored to have, but it is still a business. Protect yourself and your creativity.
