Featured Session: Naples Beach Family Session

Let’s call this a trial run of a possible new feature to the innerXpressions blog. My goal is to be able to share more than just an image or two but rather to give blog viewers a real taste of what a lifeXpressions session is like. Personally, I prefer the quality of the slideshows I create for my clients for long-term enjoyment since the color accuracy is more realistic and the images don’t move quite so rapidly but this little animated ’snip’ is pretty adorable in it’s own right. :)

I posted a few images from this little guy’s session on the blog toward the end of July and, well, since the whole family is just so darned cute anyway I decided they would be the perfect family to kick us off. Please feel free to leave your thoughts on the video and the concept of future ‘featured sessions’. I am always open to feedback! Now I must get ready for a special evening out with my guy. Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Now available for pool parties!

Ha ha ha, ok, not really but I do love working with creative parents who aren’t afraid to step out of the box when it comes to their family portraits. With two tots under 3 years old I’m betting Mom is used to having to improvise to make things work. Totally worth the effort, in fact, I often feel like it’s those fantastic ‘every day’ moments that just happen during your session that make the most memorable images.

Meet Brandon (3 yrs) and Chloe (1 yr), two gorgeous little children with boundless amounts of energy. While we did capture some adorable more ‘planned’ images during this session, without a doubt my absolute favorites are the images I was able to capture after the children thought “picture day” was over. They put on their swimsuits and totally let loose in the water.

One thought comes to mind as I proof these images - they capture what’s real. Real life with two toddlers isn’t peaceful, it isn’t clean, they don’t usually do what you want them to do when you want them to do it. That’s ok!! Enjoy their spunky little personalities! I hope that when the dust settles (say in about 18 or 20 years -ha ha ha) Mom & Dad will look back at the images captured remembering the chaos. Then, as they look up at each other, they’ll smile with pride because they survived! ;)

Sneak Peek, Dario and Kristina Visit Naples Beach

Meet Dario and Kristina - full of spunk and energy and their session proofs certainly showcase that! Dario was such a ham I swear he looked at me like I had two heads when I started teasing him and said, “Betchya can’t splash me!”. ha ha It was all in good fun, it’s HOT this time of year, I’ll find any excuse to get in the water!

Kristina is my beautiful beach ballerina, isn’t she lovely? Mom wasn’t entirely sure about leaving her long curly hair down but I’m so glad she did, at least for part of the session. It’s the beach after all and long wavy beach blown hair just seems natural. I just adore, I mean seriously LOVE the shot of her running away and laughing! The small web-sized image can’t do it justice, this playful expression and the beautiful skyline deserve to be enlarged. I’m thinking maybe I need a new canvas sample!

What’s even more fun is that they brought along their Grandma and Grandpa to get in on the action. I love sessions with extended family members, especially in this type of setting where they can play with the children and just do what they do best as opposed to sitting and smiling at the camera the whole time. I know as time goes by and I pull out the photo album I’ll have tons of snapshots showing me what my parents look like, but the images I truly treasure are the ones that show WHO they are and how much my children love them, the amazing connection that spans generations. To this day I get goosebumps when my little girl runs to my Daddy and he swoops her up in his arms. So much strength and wisdom- I’m getting all sentimental just thinking about it now.

Well Mr & Mrs L. I hope I was able to capture a bit of that for you! :)

Sneak Peek, Jake & Luke visit Pelican Bay in Naples

I just adore these two little guys. Mom & Dad are just as much fun as their boys, up for anything, “Just do your thing” she tells me. I love to do my thing… :)

So what do ya think Mom? Not too shabby if I do say so myself. I hope the boys picked out super prizes from Target, they were FAN-TAS-TIC!! Proofs will be ready VERY soon!!! :)

I just adored how little Luke would stand on his tippy-toes, grab Daddy’s head with both hands and plant a kiss right on it. So sweet!

Well, if there is one thing you can say about a beach session with me, it’s never dull.

Sharks in the waters of Sanibel Island?!

0408smith40bw.jpg

hee hee made ya look! Ok, not really a shark. Just a happy little dolphin swimming close to shore. I would’ve preferred to have caught him mid jump with the family looking on but it just wasn’t in the stars that day. Still, I hope this image will bring back sweet memories for an adorable Indianapolis family. Little Mika clearly has Mommy & Daddy wrapped around her finger. Five minutes with her and you can understand why! :)

Sneak Peek, Jake and Sam

From Michigan to Naples…that’s a long trip! Mom has been so patient with my while I played catch up thanks to computer mishaps and workshops on the other side of the country… Of course I’m rushing to get caught up, clients are patiently waiting for their proofs and, of course, my OTHER computer is acting like a slug. Not the one that just crashed, my editing pc. Adobe bridge has crashed at least 6 times today, I’ve rebooted, cleared the cache, reset the ram usage…etc and so on. Just one more session to go and I will be officially “caught up” but it seems as though my PC has it in for me. I will not go MAC, I refuse! So, when you’re done looking at these most adorable little guys and your surfing on your computer worry-free, you might want to stop by this site, have a little chuckle and then beam me a little happy pc mojo please. Much appreciated! Everything you ever wanted to know about Murphy’s Law.

This is Jake. Jake is a ham, he had me cracking up with his air guitar and dance moves.

This is Sam. Sam is a wee bit more cautious than Jake and therefore was not 100% sure he wanted to be my new friend. That’s ok though, he decided to do his own thing and I was perfectly content to step back and just capture him being who he is. :)

Sneak Peek, Jace & Lyla

This sneak peek is long over due, Mom & Dad have been so patient waiting for their proofs due some very icky technical difficulties in the land of lifeXpressions. In the mean time, I hope this sneak peek will bring a smile to their faces. Hang in there guys, almost ready!!
