Sneak Peek { Kevin & Riley } | Fort Myers Beach Family Photographer

A sneak peek of a recent beach session with my friends from Atlanta, Kevin and Riley (and some of mom too). I have been taking pictures of Kevin annually since he was only 13 months old and before every session there is some crisis that makes mom freak out and think we will never get to our session during her short stay in the area. We have (fingers crossed), yet to change the date or time of our photos in all the years…but we have had to work around a busted lip, a severe storm, sunburns, black eyes and more! But every time we have had a super fun time and captured some amazing memories.

This year although the forecast said rain, we had a beautiful day. It was super windy, but that couldn’t keep us from having our session. In 20 minutes flat we got photos of the kids in 2 outfits each, a few kisses for mom and lots and lots of smiles. Big brother, Kevin showed me a few teeth missing since the last time I photographed him and is becoming so tall it is hard to believe he will soon by 7 years old. But you have to love this boy, he could charm anyone with those huge blue eyes I love to photograph. Little sister, Riley who never wants to smile for me, had a whole new personality this year! She had so much fun letting me chase her and play hide and seek. And smiles, smiles and more smiles.

Murphy’s Law – You promise a newsletter and more frequent blog updates and then end up with two busted up fingers that make typing on the keyboard all but impossible. Yikes! Hang in there though, I will be good as new and back in action real soon!!

So now you know why I’ve been so quiet…trust me…it’s not a pretty site. Since I’ve managed to simultaneously damage one finger on EACH hand I’ve been reduced to hen pecking the keys with my index fingers. Owie!! Still, I have to share a few from a very fun session I recently photographed on Fort Myers Beach. They’ve been so patient, thank you guys! Here’s a little peek of the most adorable Johnny and his family. WHAT A HOOT they were to photograph, Johnny has energy to spare, bottle it up and sell it I say. Ha-ha

Thanks so much for having me capture your precious memories, I can’t wait to see you again and meet the rest of the family in the coming months! * Note to self – by new running shoes ’cause if the rest of the little ones are as fast as Johnny here I’m gonna need ‘em!

Sneak Peek { Bryce } | Naples Family Beach Portraits

Tis the season to be photographing families…fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la….or something like that anyway! I have been absolutely swamped with family sessions this year but you won’t hear me complaining! It’s been a real treat to meet some new faces and have the opportunity to photograph some of my very favorite clients again this holiday season. The family I’m sharing today happens to fall in the category of ‘very favorite clients I’m thrilled to be photographing again”.

This is just a quick post to share a few of baby Bryce whom I haven’t seen since his newborn session back in September of 2008, then it’s back to editing I go. I simply HAD to sneak peek a few of this little cutie for Mom and Dad though. You see, Bryce made me ALL OF US work a little to try and catch his sweet expressions. Suffice it to say the sand and surf held more fascination for him that me and my silly old camera. That’s okay, I understand little man, lots of cool stuff out there to see and explore! Still, before all was said and done, I do believe I was able to capture a few very sweet moments for Mom & Dad. Hopefully they’ll love them as much as I do. <3

Sneak Peek { Berklie } | Naples Family Beach Portraits

Welcome to the holiday portrait season Southwest Florida! *whew* You all have certainly been keeping me busy with family portrait sessions on the beaches of Naples this year and ya know what? I LOVE IT!! Oh my word I have been having so much fun photographing new families and families like the one I’m about to share with you today who have been coming back to lifeXpressions to capture their special memories for years. Thank you all for your support and loyalty, I cannot tell you how much I appreciate having the chance to watch your family grow through the years. <3 you all!!

Today I’m going to sneak peek the totally adorable Miss Berklie (and her Mommy & Daddy too)! She’s three now, full of spirit and energy. In fact I’m fairly certain she could out run the road runner! I first met little B’s Mom and Dad when she was the bun in the oven back in 2007. Oh yeah, they totally rocked their maternity portraits on the beach in Naples…

Yep, they sure did! Simply, beautiful! Then little baby B. stole the show for her newborn portrait session in their home. You might recognize this shot from the opening sequence shown on the lifeXpressions photography main website…

Then there was the totally fun session for her first birthday. Mom has a rockin’ sense of style as you’ll see below. How fun was this outfit?!

See, told ya she was ADORABLE! Oh but the fun doesn’t stop there. I’ve been enjoying the trip down memory lane, if you want to follow along here’s our little star on the beach in 2008 and the whole family for their 2008 Holiday Portraits at one of my favorite places to photograph families in Estero. There’s no denying we had a total blast during our 2009 mini session at the Secret Garden. The style and sass in this little girl never cease to amaze me! Little B, you are a SUPA-STAR!! A big thank you to you for coming out to the beach to play with me and to your Mommy and Daddy for letting me be the one to document your family all these years. I can’t wait to meet the new addition!!

A little Slice of Xander & Charlie’s Life | Naples Holiday Portrait Mini Sessions

Today I’m going to share with you all two little guys just full of spunk…and one with their lovely momma too! Xander and Charlie had a blast exploring all the wonderful trees and water paths as we walked through the secret garden for our mini session. Charlie was in love with the twigs, in fact they made it laugh out loud! Xander is such an amazing big brother, always helping Charlie, holding his hand, giving him little kisses. So sweet! I think Xander’s favorite part of the secret garden was the water. No real surprise there since he enjoyed the water so much during our first session together back in 2008, you may remember he was that adorable little baby that took flight over the gulf. Still, I don’t think Mom was expecting him to jump IN the water at the secret garden, haha OOPS! At least he waited until the end though right? Thanks for coming to play with me for a little while you guys and a big thank you to Mom for letting me be the one to document your family’s memories through the years!

Daddy Time | Fort Myers Family Portraits

Just a quick share for you today of little Alexa whom I last photographed as a newborn. She’s two now and this lovely family just welcomed a second gorgeous little girl into their lives. I was so excited when they asked me to document the occasion for them with portraits of their new baby girl (stay tuned, I’ll share some of those in a future blog post). As with most of my newborn sessions, I found myself with a little down time while Mom nursed and soothed her new baby. But down time can be a lot of fun when you’ve got a playful two year old hanging out in the other room! When I saw Dad & Alexa playing together so contently I couldn’t help but document the moment for them. This is real life. Looking at family photos on the iPad (yeah, I love mine too!), giggling, singing songs together. Memories that will last a lifetime that’s for sure! As a Mom, these are the images that melt my heart. There’s just something so endearing about watching Daddies play with their little girls…ahh.

Sneak Peek { Hunter } | Naples Family Portraits at La Playa Beach Resort

Well hellooo there! Yes, I know it seems like it’s been an eternity since I’ve updated the blog. Between sessions and editing and my kids starting summer break and then our family vacation to the BEAUTIFUL Silver Springs State Park & Wild Waters, well, the blog has been on the bottom of the priority list and for that I apologize. However I have a treat for you today, this beautiful family was visiting the Naples beach area from Texas and what an amazing time we all had together. Mom was positively GLOWING and picked the most beautiful flowing white maternity dress I’ve ever seen. Dad was simply beaming with pride watching his family play in the surf and well, Hunter was just a charmer. That little guy had me wrapped around his finger in five minutes flat!

See – I told you they were gorgeous! Kelly and I had the extra special treat of getting to spend some time and capture a few fun moments of Hunter with his Grandparents too. It’s always a joy to get to meet extended family and not hard at all to see where those big blue eyes and charming personalities come from!

Ahh yes, it’s not really a lifeXpressions beach session until somebody gets wet! Usually that someone is me but I never turn down a good splash partner! I hope you all enjoyed your Fourth of July holiday weekend. Mom and Dad, hang tight I’ll have the rest of your proofs ready REAL soon! xoxo

Sneak Peek { Kiley & Olivia } | Naples Children’s Photographer

Just recently I had the opportunity to photograph these totally adorable cousins at the Naples Secret Garden. I’ve had the pleasure of photographing Kiley and Olivia a few times over the last three years and boy have they changed since our first session together in the summer of 2008. No longer little babies, but sweet, charming little girls just busting with energy and personality! Here’s a little sneak peek for both Moms who have been waiting patiently for their proofs, promise, they’ll be ready REAL soon!

Sneak Peek { Charlotte & Cass } | Fort Myers Beach Family Portraits

Good gracious! Has it really been a year since I first met Charlotte and her lovely family? Judging by the date of her last sneak peek on this very blog I guess so, my how time flies! This year I had to privilege of not only seeing the totally adorable Miss Charlotte again but also being introduced to her equally adorable baby brother, Cass. What a little butterball of cuteness he was!

While this session was mostly for Charlotte and Cass, you know I can’t resist the urge to capture charming Mommy/Child moments when they happen right in front of me. Just look at Mom’s face in the photo below, doesn’t it just melt your heart?! So much love for her little man…And judging by this super cute shot Kelly managed to capture of Charlotte and Daddy spending a little quality cuddle time together, I’m thinking she has the same thoughts I do on the subject; loving family moments like these are just as important as the formal portraits, if not more so. In fact capturing these loving moments and preserving them forever is the reason I do what I do, it is the source of my joy and the reason I love my ‘job’. Anybody can take a picture, some quite well even without hiring a professional photographer. I believe in capturing memories, your memories WITH your children, your husband, your friends. Moments in time you will look back on in 10, 15, 20 years…moments that will melt your heart all over again just like they did the first time you saw them.I’ve just one more image to share then I must get back to proofing. But before I go I’d like to say thank you to Charlotte, Cass and family for spending your Saturday with me. I truly enjoyed our session together and can’t wait to share the rest of the images from our morning on Fort Myers beach. Hang tight, they’ll be ready REAL soon!!

Sneak Peek { Paxton } | Naples Baby Portraits

Anyone remember these little guys? Maybe from Austin’s newborn session? Or Mason’s newborn session? Or maybe it was their session last year? Okay, my memory gets bad sometimes too but I’m willing to bet you remember the post I made showcasing their family titled: Prayers for a very special family. It wasn’t more than a few days after their Maternity session last September that their whole world was turned upside down when they learned their unborn child had only half of a heart.

To learn more about their incredible journey and the amazing little man I’m about to share with you, you’ll have to hop over to their family blog, The Wild, Wild, Wests. There’s simply no way I can do justice to their story but I will tell you this, having known this family for about four years now I know, without a doubt, that if anyone has the faith, strength, love, and devotion to weather the storm and end up on top it is them!
