This lovely family made a trip to the Naples area all the way from New Jersey, by CAR. Brave, brave, souls! haha Seriously though, I’ve made the drive from South to North (Michigan to be exact) a few times myself it’s actually very scenic and the quality family time on the road can lead to memories that last a lifetime! I could tell the minute I met them they were easy going, fun loving, and full of spirit! I spend so much time chasing toddlers on the beach it’s always a nice change of pace to be able to photograph people who DON’T run from the camera!

A big thank you to the C. family for chosing lifeXpressions to capture your vacation memories while visiting sunny Florida. I hope you had as much fun during our session together as we did!

Featured Session { Aria } | Naples Newborn Photographer

It wasn’t long ago I had the honor of meeting this lovely family for their maternity session at the Naples Secret Garden – and not a minute too soon because Aria was born less than a week later so we loaded up our gear and headed on over to photograph the new family at their home in Naples. Isn’t she precious??? Yep, we think so too! Look at her little lips, and chubby little cheeks, tiny toes, and baby wrinkles – LOVE! The precious little necklace was a gift from family overseas – so beautiful and sentimental. I can already imagine her passing this piece on to her own daughter, or granddaughter someday and it makes me *smile*.

Sneak Peek { Hunter } | Naples Family Portraits at La Playa Beach Resort

Well hellooo there! Yes, I know it seems like it’s been an eternity since I’ve updated the blog. Between sessions and editing and my kids starting summer break and then our family vacation to the BEAUTIFUL Silver Springs State Park & Wild Waters, well, the blog has been on the bottom of the priority list and for that I apologize. However I have a treat for you today, this beautiful family was visiting the Naples beach area from Texas and what an amazing time we all had together. Mom was positively GLOWING and picked the most beautiful flowing white maternity dress I’ve ever seen. Dad was simply beaming with pride watching his family play in the surf and well, Hunter was just a charmer. That little guy had me wrapped around his finger in five minutes flat!

See – I told you they were gorgeous! Kelly and I had the extra special treat of getting to spend some time and capture a few fun moments of Hunter with his Grandparents too. It’s always a joy to get to meet extended family and not hard at all to see where those big blue eyes and charming personalities come from!

Ahh yes, it’s not really a lifeXpressions beach session until somebody gets wet! Usually that someone is me but I never turn down a good splash partner! I hope you all enjoyed your Fourth of July holiday weekend. Mom and Dad, hang tight I’ll have the rest of your proofs ready REAL soon! xoxo

Featured Session {Will, Natalie, Andrew, Corey & Cecilia} | Sanibel Island Family Beach Portraits

It’s time for another Featured Session! These two families were vacationing on Sanibel a few weeks ago when we got the phone call to join them for a morning session … and boy did we have fun! Once we found the secret path to the beach (which really wasn’t secret, it was just well hidden), we got down to business. By the way, lifeXpressions’ translation of ‘business’ is FUN! Turns out that both families have been friends for some time and come to Sanibel often for vacation. This trip, they were celebrating a milestone birthday making it all the more fun.

We’ll start with Will, Natalie and Andrew’s family – they’re from the East Coast of Florida. They are also lovers of photography and, as you’ll see in a few frames, we *may* have ourselves another photographer in the making here!!! How cute is that picture?!? She and Terrilyn took pictures of each other and it was hilarious. Natalie thought so too! Her brothers, Will and Andrew, were a hoot too. They had a lot of fun splashing us once they got a little warmed up.

Next is Corey & Celia’s family – they were visiting from New York. *Someone* in this group was enjoying a lovely birthday weekend! What a fantastic way to spend a weekend – on an island with your family and great friends. I think their happiness shows in their pictures – don’t you? Mom and Dad look happy and relaxed. The picture of Corey & Celia, holding her baby sister’s hand so tenderly, just melts my heart. I absolutely LOVE that picture. So sweet and endearing.

Sneak Peek {Avian and Family, waiting for Aria…} | Naples Maternity and Family Portraits

This Sneak Peek is for a super sweet family down in Naples. Mom contacted us just a few weeks ago for maternity and family pictures before the baby arrived and, well, it’s a GOOD thing we got these beautiful pictures when we did because I do believe mom had baby Aria less than a week after our session! Talk about cutting it close {wink}! But seriously – mom, dad, and big brother-to-be (Avian) were a joy to photograph. We were even able to work our magic on Avian … I think the images show that his shyness didn’t last long! He was very sweet, friendly, polite, goofy, flirty, and just a great four year old all around.

This is the first time mom is seeing her maternity pictures – and girl, you looked amazing! When you look at these images, smile and cherish the miracle you have and the beauty of your pregnancy. We’ll have a sneak peek up soon of Aria!

Sneak Peek {Erin, Reuben, Gracie & Emmersyn} | Estero Family Portraits

Somewhere around 9 a.m. last Sunday morning, I was shining up my lens, checking my settings, and making sure I had our Model Release ready for this gorgeous family to sign. Then the fun began (and a little bit of sweating too)! We set off down the path at Koreshan State Park in Estero to do some serious exploring. And speaking of serious, serious props go to mom, Erin – for schlepping all over the place that morning when she’s just a few weeks shy of her due date. And a big high five goes to dad, Reuben, for keeping a watchful eye on the girls – making sure no one got away while we were shooting. We had a lot to accomplish during our session: a few maternity pics, a family shot or two, and pics of the girls – we were busy!!! And I’ve been really busy ever since trying to narrow down which images to show – no small task with this good looking family!

I know mom and dad are anxious for a sneak peek, and I didn’t want to waste any time getting this post up considering mom told me the morning of our session that she’d had a few contractions the night before. I’m so excited for you guys, and thrilled that you chose me to photograph such a beautiful time in your lives. Thank you! Your gallery will be up soon!

Featured Session {Katelyn} | Naples Family Beach Portraits

Because Terrilyn and I have been so busy with sessions and some other really cool stuff we can’t wait to share with you, we thought we would treat everyone to a Featured Session while we put the finishing touches on a few surprises behind the scenes! It’s been a while since we’ve featured a session, and I think you’ll really enjoy these images.

This super fun family came down from the Chicago area back in April for a vacation in Naples. We had the pleasure of photographing mom, dad, and Katelyn on the beach. Katelyn was full of personality, smiles and loved playing in the sand and surf. Even her teddy bear had a special place in the pictures! Cute. Katelyn started the session in a really sweet, long pink dress (I LOVE pink on the beach), before changing into an adorable brown bikini. Mom and Dad were also looking good in coordinating outfits and we had the makings of a fabulous session before we could say “Cheese!”

We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day either – the weather was just perfect that day! Take a look below and see for yourself!

Sneak Peek {Daniel & Benjamin} | Fort Myers Beach Family Portraits

This lovely family was down on vacation recently from Canada when we had the pleasure of spending the morning with them at the beach. And on this special morning, *someone* must have called the wildlife committee because we saw all kinds of things: hundreds of small sting rays swimming about 5 feet off shore; a HUGE gopher turtle walking through the brush; and a few dolphins having some morning fun. It was so cool to experience all that with these beautiful boys who live far, far away from the beach (wink).

Daniel & Benjamin are twin brothers, and both have such big personalities independent of each other. It’s always amazing to watch twins interact with each other and it was clear that Daniel & Benjamin shared a special bond. They each share their own special bonds with Mom & Dad too. And although it was just a smidge on the hot side the morning of our session, these boys just kept on playing and laughing and having fun. We dipped our toes in the water, and played in the sand, and truly had a great time.

Sneak Peek { Charlotte & Cass } | Fort Myers Beach Family Portraits

Good gracious! Has it really been a year since I first met Charlotte and her lovely family? Judging by the date of her last sneak peek on this very blog I guess so, my how time flies! This year I had to privilege of not only seeing the totally adorable Miss Charlotte again but also being introduced to her equally adorable baby brother, Cass. What a little butterball of cuteness he was!

While this session was mostly for Charlotte and Cass, you know I can’t resist the urge to capture charming Mommy/Child moments when they happen right in front of me. Just look at Mom’s face in the photo below, doesn’t it just melt your heart?! So much love for her little man…And judging by this super cute shot Kelly managed to capture of Charlotte and Daddy spending a little quality cuddle time together, I’m thinking she has the same thoughts I do on the subject; loving family moments like these are just as important as the formal portraits, if not more so. In fact capturing these loving moments and preserving them forever is the reason I do what I do, it is the source of my joy and the reason I love my ‘job’. Anybody can take a picture, some quite well even without hiring a professional photographer. I believe in capturing memories, your memories WITH your children, your husband, your friends. Moments in time you will look back on in 10, 15, 20 years…moments that will melt your heart all over again just like they did the first time you saw them.I’ve just one more image to share then I must get back to proofing. But before I go I’d like to say thank you to Charlotte, Cass and family for spending your Saturday with me. I truly enjoyed our session together and can’t wait to share the rest of the images from our morning on Fort Myers beach. Hang tight, they’ll be ready REAL soon!!

Sneak Peek {Kevin & Riley} | Portraits at the Secret Garden in Naples

So…my husband and I think that Kevin & Riley are the next Kevin Bacon and Gwyneth Paltrow. What do you think?! Personally, I can’t tell you how excited I was to actually meet these two gorgeous kids in person either. I guess it’s time to confess: I’ve had a long-standing crush on Kevin, it’s true (wink wink). And Ms. Riley was the icing on the cake! I was quite impressed with how loving Kevin was toward his little sister during our time together. So sweet! [I have a younger brother and I'm willing to bet my mother would have paid money to get us to behave the way Kevin & Riley did!] This was also the first time I met mom – honestly, such a pleasure to hang out with this family for the morning. Both Terrilyn and I got such adorable, amazing shots that it has been *beyond* challenging to pick our favorites. So, you all will just have to settle for oh, maybe a couple handfuls of Sneak Peeks instead. Thank you so much mom, Kevin and Riley for a fabulous morning at The Secret Garden….your gallery will be up soon!
