Sneak Peek { Andy, Lila, & Mommy } | Fort Myers Mother and Child Portraits

lifexpressions photography family portrait session, fort myers florida, on location photographer, naples beach photographer, naples newborn photography, sibling portraits, sanibel beach portraitsEarlier this week (on one of our lately quite rare warm days) I had the opportunity to play catch up with a family I hadn’t seen in about a year. In fact, I’m pretty sure Lila (now two) was the same age then as her little brother is now (7 months) when we first met on the beach. This time they traveled all the way from Sarasota for our session together at Centennial Park in downtown Fort Myers. Suffice it to say, by the time they arrived little Lila was ready to go-go-go and that she did! I must remember to thank her for saving me a trip to the gym.  haha :P

Thanks Lila, Andy, Mommy (and of course Grand-Mommy too!) – it was so nice to spend the morning with you all once again. I’m looking forward to showing you all of the lovely Mommy and me moments we captured together real soon!lifexpressions photography family portrait session, fort myers florida, on location photographer, naples beach photographer, naples newborn photography, sibling portraits, sanibel beach portraits

Sneak Peek { Sydney & Sienna } | Naples Family Portraits In The Secret Garden

lifeXpressions photography family portraits in the secret gardenToday’s sneak peek features a very special family I’ve had the pleasure of working with for several years now. It’s always such a joy to see them each year and see how much the girls have grown and changed. I know Mom is just on pins and needles waiting to see all the beautiful photos we captured that day so I’m hoping this little sneak peek will tide her over until I get their custom slideshow ready. ;)

Pssst Between you and me…I think she’s going to have a tough time narrowing down her favorites. These are two seriously adorable little ladies!

Jaden, Camryn & Taylor | Top-Secret, Undercover, Hush-Hush Family Session at the Secret Garden

lifeXpressions photography secret garden family portraitsUndercover sessions, could it be I’ve discovered the next big trend in portrait photography? haha Probably not. Mom did warn me prior to the session that Camryn (2 yrs old), while totally adorable, truly hates to be photographed. It’s actually quite common at that age but with a some patience I can usually coax out a little of the child’s unique personality. Nope. Not this time, Camryn meant business! I’d pulled out every trick in the book and the little cutie just wasn’t having it. So I did the only thing I could think of, I called off the session. Yep.

Okay, not really. What I did was ask Mom and Dad to forget about me for a while and just go play with their kids in the beautiful garden. I made no attempt to pick up my camera or go near them. Then, having forgotten the stranger with the big camera the children went about their morning playing and having a fantastic time with Mommy & Daddy. That’s when I took the opportunity to get sneaky and started creaping through the trees to capture them playing together.

Clearly I need to better devlop my undercover techniques since they did eventually spot me. Of course, by that time they were all having too much fun to care. :) lifexpressions photography family portraits in the secret garden of naples

Jaden, you are just way too cute little man! And Camryn, those big baby blues and CURLS!! What a beauty!

lifexpressions photography family portrait session, fort myers florida, on location photographer, naples beach photographer, naples newborn photography, sibling portraits, sanibel beach portraitsI know I’ve said it before but I really do enjoy watching these families grow. I think it’s even more special when they don’t actually live in Florida but still come to see me regularly for updated sessions. The last time I’d photographed this family Jaden was 3 and Camryn was just a little baby. This year they welcomed Taylor to the family, she looks a lot like her sister at did at that age, so sweet!lifexpressions photography family portrait session, fort myers florida, on location photographer, naples beach photographer, naples newborn photography, sibling portraits, sanibel beach portraitsI have to say, I’m quite eager to see how much they grow and change by our next session together. I’m betting I won’t be required to do undercover work anymore but I’m pretty sure we’ll have a great time regardless!  See you all soon!!

Featured Session | Zachary & Sophia

Oh boy, I’ve been a bad-bad-blogger! I’m so sorry. As you may have guessed we’re reaching the end of the holiday portrait season and it’s crunch time here in the land of lifeXpressions, not that that’s any excuse. At this point I can only hope a featured session will help ease the pain of neglect for my loyal blog readers. <grin> Seriously though – what a treat I have for you guys in the way of featured sessions…blue skies, beautiful warm Florida beaches, a family of blonde haired cuties – total eye candy!

I think I’ve lost count of how many sessions I’ve had with this fabulous family over the years and that’s a-okay with me ’cause I seriously think they get cuter every.single.time I see them!lifexpressions photography family portrait session, fort myers florida, on location photographer, naples beach photographer, naples newborn photography, sibling portraits, sanibel beach portraitslifexpressions photography family portrait session, fort myers florida, on location photographer, naples beach photographer, naples newborn photography, sibling portraits, sanibel beach portraitsI remember little Zachary was just 6 months old when we first met. He had/has the most AMAZING big blue eyes. Such a cutie but  just look at him now, 3 years old sporting that big boy haircut and everything. …sigh… Where does the time go??lifexpressions photography family portrait session, fort myers florida, on location photographer, naples beach photographer, naples newborn photography, sibling portraits, sanibel beach portraitsThen we have sweet little Sophia. Those blue eyes and full lips, I have to admit I’m just slightly jealous, isn’t she beautiful?? Sophia graduated from our JOY program earlier this year. Mom warned me at the start of the session that Sophia never smiles for pictures and that I shouldn’t take it personally.  Hmm, really? What’s that old saying?? “Never Say Never”? <grin>lifexpressions photography family portrait session, fort myers florida, on location photographer, naples beach photographer, naples newborn photography, sibling portraits, sanibel beach portraitsI love being there to capture a family so in love with each other, it makes my job such a treat. Happy Parents = Happy Children = BEAUTIFUL FAMILY MEMORIES CAPTURED which equals one very happy photographer and, as my lovely assistant Kelly will attest, when Terrilyn is happy everyone is happy! *giggle*lifexpressions photography family portrait session, fort myers florida, on location photographer, naples beach photographer, naples newborn photography, sibling portraits, sanibel beach portraitslifexpressions photography family portrait session, fort myers florida, on location photographer, naples beach photographer, naples newborn photography, sibling portraits, sanibel beach portraitsOkay…okay…back to work I go….

Sneak Peek { Trevor & Anthony } | Family Beach Portraits in Naples

lifexpressions photography family portrait session, fort myers florida, on location photographer, naples beach photographer, naples newborn photography, sibling portraits, sanibel beach portraits

Today I’ve got a sneak peek for a completely adorable family with two of the most spunky, totally entertaining little boys I’ve ever met. It’s really no wonder Mom stays so slim and trim chasing after these two cuties, they managed to wear ME out inside of an hour! *whew*

Totally worth it though, the way I see it playing with these guys on the beach for an hour or two is LOADS funner than going to the gym. :P lifexpressions photography family portrait session, fort myers florida, on location photographer, naples beach photographer, naples newborn photography, sibling portraits, sanibel beach portraits

Um yeah, it’s safe to assume these two LOVE the water…as prooven during our session together back in June. I think the hardest part is actually keeping them OUT of the water for any length of time. I admire Mom and Dad’s ability to go with the flow. When Trevor dove into the water 15 minutes into the session and started laughing Dad just grinned and said, “Look at that smile!”. I firmly believe happy parents make happy children, the proof is in the pictures… lifexpressions photography family portrait session, fort myers florida, on location photographer, naples beach photographer, naples newborn photography, sibling portraits, sanibel beach portraitsCue the JAWS music…dda nuh…da nuh…da nuh da nuh da nuh da NUH! <giggle>lifexpressions photography family portrait session, fort myers florida, on location photographer, naples beach photographer, naples newborn photography, sibling portraits, sanibel beach portraitsAwwww!lifexpressions photography family portrait session, fort myers florida, on location photographer, naples beach photographer, naples newborn photography, sibling portraits, sanibel beach portraits

Sneak Peek { Charlotte & Family } | Making Memories of a Lifetime

lifexpressions photography family portrait session, fort myers florida, on location photographer, naples beach photographer, naples newborn photography, sibling portraits, sanibel beach portraitsI know that every family I have the privilege to work with is special. Unfortunately I don’t always get the opportunity to know just how special they are in those couple hours we spend together during the session. The family I’m sharing today I did not know prior to our session. They hired me to capture some playful memories for them while they were visiting the Naples area from Canada. I knew when I met them that they were wonderful people; Charlotte at just 7 years old was completely charming, her Mother beautiful and kind. Dad the perfect mix of strong and sweet, especially where young Charlotte was concerned. It was an absolute joy spending time with them, capturing their family spirit. However it wasn’t until I was faced with my own family crisis (which I won’t go into today) that I learned just how special this family is. I don’t want to share personal information shared with me in confidence – I’ll suffice it to say that I have so much respect and admiration for this strong family. I hope that this little sneak peek brings a smile to their face because their kindness truly touched my heart. lifexpressions photography family portrait session, fort myers florida, on location photographer, naples beach photographer, naples newborn photography, sibling portraits, sanibel beach portraits

Let me tell ya, more often than not the hardest subject to get natural, relaxed smiles from is usually DAD! Betchya never would have guessed that! Let me tell ya, there ain’t nothin’ better than capturing a Daddy’s honest to goodness REAL smile.lifexpressions photography family portrait session, fort myers florida, on location photographer, naples beach photographer, naples newborn photography, sibling portraits, sanibel beach portraitsOne of my favorite parts of the session happens about half way through when we all get to let our hair down and have some fun – some of us more than others! When Charlotte lets her hair down, she REALLY lets her hair down! Look at that beautiful full head of hair! So jealous!!

It was truly my honor and privilege to meet you all. Thank you for sharing your beautiful family with me.

Sneak Peek { Derek & Brandon } | Naples Beach Family Photographer

Mark Twain once said: “If you don’t like the weather, wait a minute.”

I’d swear he was talking about Florida. I’ve repeated that very quote to my clients more than a few times and it certainly held true for the session I’m sharing today. This gorgeous Mom and her handsome boys showed up for their session and the weather was unbelievably perfect. Sunny, but not too sunny, not too hot or humid and just a few clouds over head. Within five minutes of arrival the drops started coming down. Drop…drop…drop…BOOM! I managed to snap exactly two shots before the clouds opened up and the rain came pouring down on our heads.lifexpressions photography family portrait session, fort myers florida, on location photographer, naples beach photographer, naples newborn photography, sibling portraits, sanibel beach portraitsWe waited a moment or two to see if it would start to let up, unfortunately it only rained harder. I have to admit, I was starting to get a little nervous. I know how much effort goes into preparing for your family portraits and I know Mom had been looking forward to our session together for weeks now. Yet here it is rain coming down hard but that sun was still out there shining. Their flight was leaving that afternoon so I knew this was our only chance. Nothing like a little pressure to get the creative juices flowing eh?!

I could tell the rain wasn’t stopping any time soon but this is Florida, it can (and often does) rain on one side of the street and leave the other side dry as a bone. With that in mind we decided to take our chances and beach hop our way down the coast until we found a spot that wasn’t getting poured on. I’d like to think there was some cosmic force at work that day because if we had stayed at the first location I would’ve never been able to capture this moment in time…lifexpressions photography family portrait session, fort myers florida, on location photographer, naples beach photographer, naples newborn photography, sibling portraits, sanibel beach portraits

Seriously, how often do you get the opportunity to photograph a family with rainbow in the background? So beautiful! Speaking of beautiful, can I say I’m more than just a little jealous of Mom right now. Geeze, put me in the rain for five seconds I look like a frizzy drowned rat yet Mom manages to look absolutely flawless throughout our session. I have GOT to get her secrets. I love that her boys are completely soaked, it shows that they were playing hard and having fun – boys being boys – as it should be! lifexpressions photography family portrait session, fort myers florida, on location photographer, naples beach photographer, naples newborn photography, sibling portraits, sanibel beach portraits
