Sneak Peek { Berklie } | Naples Family Beach Portraits

Welcome to the holiday portrait season Southwest Florida! *whew* You all have certainly been keeping me busy with family portrait sessions on the beaches of Naples this year and ya know what? I LOVE IT!! Oh my word I have been having so much fun photographing new families and families like the one I’m about to share with you today who have been coming back to lifeXpressions to capture their special memories for years. Thank you all for your support and loyalty, I cannot tell you how much I appreciate having the chance to watch your family grow through the years. <3 you all!!

Today I’m going to sneak peek the totally adorable Miss Berklie (and her Mommy & Daddy too)! She’s three now, full of spirit and energy. In fact I’m fairly certain she could out run the road runner! I first met little B’s Mom and Dad when she was the bun in the oven back in 2007. Oh yeah, they totally rocked their maternity portraits on the beach in Naples…

Then there was the totally fun session for her first birthday. Mom has a rockin’ sense of style as you’ll see below. How fun was this outfit?!

I’ve been enjoying the trip down memory lane, if you want to follow along here’s our little star on the beach in 2008 and the whole family for their 2008 Holiday Portraits at one of my favorite places to photograph families in Estero. There’s no denying we had a total blast during our 2009 mini session at the Secret Garden. The style and sass in this little girl never cease to amaze me! Little B, you are a SUPA-STAR!! A big thank you to you for coming out to the beach to play with me and to your Mommy and Daddy for letting me be the one to document your family all these years. I can’t wait to meet the new addition!!

Trendy Tuesday | Channel Your Inner Mickey & Minnie

Make what’s old new again! When thinking about your next photo session sometimes the most ridiculous thoughts can make great photo ideas. Since so many of my lifeXpressions clients visit Florida’s very own Disney World, I was inspired by the Magic of it all. Mickey and Minnie’s fashion inspired me to be exact. For your next session try some of these fresh wardrobe ideas. I hope these clothing choices will make you and your children feel as magical as Disney!

Moms and girls dress up sweet and sassy like Minnie Mouse. Your adorable girl will look so innocent in her navy ruffled Janie and Jack dress. Pair with adorable Target sparkle shoes for an all out Minnie look. Moms be nostalgic and feel beautiful in this amazing dress I found on Top Max Fashion. Pair with a tee strap red pump, add hoop earrings and some polka dot bangles for totally fun feel.

Get your men involved in the Disney fantasy too. Let your little man get all dressed up in a hat, bow tie and knickers from Best Clothing Boy online, he really will channel a bit of Mickey! Have older boys involved too by pairing their favorite vintage Mickey tee from Zappos under a jacket and jeans for a look they will love. Dad can sport some new dudes from Ralph Lauren at Neiman Marcus to complete the whole story!

Use your imagination you will be surprised at how it can come together for you and your family in a photo!

A Rare Glimpse | Estero Senior Portraits Featuring My Guy

I was reminded by a good friend and client not long ago that I haven’t shared photos of my own children on the blog for quite a while. I think the reasoning behind that is two fold; first there’s Facebook! I share so much of my life with my friends & family on Facebook sometimes I feel like I’m repeating myself when I post on the blog. I forget that there are people out there who <gasp> aren’t Facebook users. I know right!? It’s kind of shocking to me too.

Secondly, my kids tend to hide run avoid the camera. I don’t know why. Okay, perhaps the years I spent practicing my craft on them might have possibly caused them to become a little camera-phobic.  That’s just a guess though. The little ones aren’t quite as phobic but then, they’re little. I can bribe convince them easier than I can my oldest. With Trevor my photographic access is typically limited to special occasions (and sneak attacks). I lucked out big time this year since his birthday is tomorrow AND he’s graduating high school this year! I was actually able to get a hair cut (yes, it was longer!) and a whole photo session out of him and I didn’t have to remind him of the TWELVE HOURS of labor pains I endured to bring him in to this world more than a couple handfuls of times. Score!

So without getting too mushy I’d like to show off share my completely amazing, talented, generous, compassionate and totally cute son, Trevor!

I love you to the moon and back kiddo. Always have, ALWAYS will.

Trendy Tuesday | The Perfect Dress for YOU!

Today is all about you, my fabulous mom readers! Every minute of our day is spent on our children (or so it seems), so today is about you. I know from experience much thought and preparation goes into your children’s wardrobe selections before a lifeXpressions session. But today we are remembering you in the photo. So get ready to shop…for YOU.

I have found the perfect dress. Yes, I know you doubt me, but this really is a perfect outfit and trendy (but not too trendy) for you. For your next session wear this perfect dress from Muse that I found at a store called The Honeybee. This trendy BoHo dress is decidedly romantic yet deliciously retro. This jersey dress will flatter any body with its luxuriously tiered sleeves, a soft belt, and flattering front shirring. It will hit above the knee (so not too short). Slices of Life Holiday Mini Session Details

Our Slices of Life sessions offer the perfect opportunity to capture a few great shots- whether you would simply like to document a new milestone or capture a shot for use in your holiday cards. All of our regular products will be available making this the perfect opportunity to get a jump on your holiday shopping!

Sessions are quite limited and as such will be scheduled on a first come – first serve basis. The Slices of Life session fee of $75.00 is required to reserve your time. Fair warning, these sessions will book fast! We recommend calling early to ensure availability of your preferred time.

Each Slices of Life Session Includes:

- 20 minute session for up to four people

- 10-15 images presented in a private online gallery

- Special Xpressive Collections starting at $250.00

- Exclusive keepsakes and promotional albums in keeping with the current ‘Slices of Life’ theme

A little Slice of Xander & Charlie’s Life | Naples Holiday Portrait Mini Sessions

October 1, 2010 – 9:28 am

Today I’m going to share with you all two little guys just full of spunk…and one with their lovely momma too! Xander and Charlie had a blast exploring all the wonderful trees and water paths as we walked through the secret garden for our mini session. Charlie was in love with the twigs, in fact they made it laugh out loud! Xander is such an amazing big brother, always helping Charlie, holding his hand, giving him little kisses. So sweet! I think Xander’s favorite part of the secret garden was the water. No real surprise there since he enjoyed the water so much during our first session together back in 2008, you may remember he was that adorable little baby that took flight over the gulf. Still, I don’t think Mom was expecting him to jump IN the water at the secret garden, haha OOPS! At least he waited until the end though right? Thanks for coming to play with me for a little while you guys and a big thank you to Mom for letting me be the one to document your family’s memories through the years!

A little Slice of Alexia’s Life | Naples Holiday Portrait Mini Sessions

Oh yes, it is time! Our first round of Holiday Mini Sessions at the Naples Secret Garden was a smashing success! Thank you to all the wonderful families that came out to spend a little time with me! I can’t wait to share your session images with you, keep checking your email because they’ll be ready REAL soon!!

In the mean time, here’s a little slice of Alexia’s lifeXpressions mini session. I’ve been photographing Alexia since before she was born and let me tell ya, she has always been super cute! Her newborn portraits remain some of my all time favorites! She’s on the move now, at warp speed no less!  Momma’s going to need to buy you some super cute track shoes before too long Missy.
